Es werden sowohl gewinnorientierte Unternehmen als auch Non-Profit-Organisationen (NPOs) sowie öffentliche Betriebe analysiert. Schwerpunkte der Diskussionspapiere des Instituts sind Corporate Governance, Euro(krise), Hochschulmanagement, Insolvenz, Personal(ökonomik), Sportökonomik sowie Wirtschafts- und Unternehmensethik.
