The psychology of technology - an interdisciplinary approach to understand the role of trust in fitness app usage

Ziel dieser Arbeit war es, Zwischenbezüge zwischen Vertrauen in Technologie, Vertrauen in den Körper, Fitness App Nutzung und Sportverhalten zu verstehen. Es zeigte sich, dass Vertrauen in Technologie die Initiierung, Aufrechterhaltung und Dropout von Fitness App-Nutzung erklären kann. Dahingegen hatte eine sechswöchige Fitness App Nutzung keinen Effekt auf Vertrauen in den Körper oder psychologisches Wohlbefinden. Zwischen Vertrauen in Technologie und Vertrauen in den Körper sowie der Vertrauensaspekte auf Sportverhalten konnten keine Effekte gefunden werden. Es wurden theoretische als auch praktische Implikationen in Bezug auf Vertrauensforschung sowie auf langfristige, gesunde und sichere Fitness App-Nutzung abgeleitet. Beispielsweise könnte die Berücksichtigung von Vertrauen in Technologie die langfristige Nutzung fördern.
